About the Author
I didn’t start out as a senior care expert.
I started out as a daughter.
I watched my mother become the Default Daughter — the one everyone assumed would handle it. When my grandfather passed, my grandmother’s world changed overnight. And so did my mother’s.
Without a conversation. Without a plan. Without a roadmap.
She drove two hours each way to appointments. She navigated confusing medical instructions alone. She managed emergencies without guidance, siblings without support, and impossible decisions without anyone in her corner.
I watched it take a toll on her that she never fully admitted.
And then I recognized something that shook me: this wasn’t the first time. It had happened to the generation before her too. Every time, it was a daughter. Every time, she did it alone. Every time, the cost was higher than anyone expected.
I knew my turn was coming.
That realization changed the direction of my life.
From Daughter to Wayfinder
I’ve helped daughters navigate falls, family standoffs, financial confusion, and the impossible question: what do I do now? I’ve sat across the table from women who were exhausted, guilt-ridden, and completely alone in a decision that felt too big to make.
That’s exactly who I wrote this book for.
The One Decision Rule is not a textbook. It’s the guide I wish my mother had — written from someone who has lived this as a daughter and navigated it professionally every day.
What I believe:
→ You don’t have to have all the answers. You just need the next right step.
→ Asking for help is not failure. It’s wisdom.
→ The best decisions come from clarity, not crisis.
→ No daughter should walk this road alone.
